Postnatal Support With a Difference - I won’t cook your dinner. But I will hold your baby, and I'll hold you!
I’ll listen, care and be fully present, so you can truly feel held, heard and cared for. Because you deserve that too.

The newborn weeks are a lot!
Nobody tells you how big this is. You’re recovering, feeding, barely sleeping, trying to figure it all out, whilst at the same time processing a birth that may or may not have gone the way you hoped. And everyone keeps asking how the baby is, when what you need is for someone to ask how you are. That’s where I come in as your Postnatal Doula.

What I do:
I’m here for you. As a qualified therapist, a mother and a Doula for over 10 years, my strengths are listening, holding space and being someone you can say the real stuff to, without being judged, fixed or told what you “should” be feeling. That might be the joy, the overwhelm, the worry you can’t say out loud, or a birth you’re still turning over in your mind. Whatever comes up, you get to say it and be heard.

I bring more than a listening ear. I’m a Trauma informed therapist, clinical hypnotherapist and a Traumatic Birth Recovery specialist, and I’ve supported over 100 births as a Doula. If your birth is still weighing on you, I understand it and I know how to hold it with you.

Alongside the listening, I can be hands-on with your baby if that is what you want and need, so you can get back to the ordinary things.
What my postnatal support looks like in practice:

-
Soothing, cuddling and changing your baby (feeding your baby if you are bottle feeding)
-
Holding your baby while you shower, nap, eat a meal sitting down, drink a hot cup of tea or get some fresh air
-
Caring for your baby so you can give your older children your full attention, hands free
-
Sitting with you while you feed, or while you just need company
-
Pottering jobs while you rest, like emptying the dishwasher, folding the washing off the airer or a general tidy of the living space
Having a newborn can make the simplest things feel impossible. With me in the house, you can do them if you want to or simply rest and be nurtured whilst I support you.
What I don’t do:

I’m not a cook or a cleaner, and I’ll be honest about that (believe me I'm doing you a favour by NOT cooking for you, nobody wants that, not even my own daughter - she'll tell you the brutal truth about my cooking abilities!) I don’t do meal prep or deep cleaning - if you just want a basic cleaner to blitz your house they charge less, so don't waste your money on postnatal prices! My job is to be present for you, in whatever way feels right, and that’s where I do my best work.
Postnatal Doula Support
This support is for your whole family, but it’s built around you, the mother. You’ve just done something extraordinary, and you deserve to be held, nurtured and honoured while you recover from it and grow into this new chapter.
It’s for you if:
-
You’re a mother who wants someone experienced in your corner, someone who centres you, looks after you and not just the baby
-
You’ve done this before and you know how hard the early weeks can be, and now you have a toddler to care for as well. Second-time mums often tell me this is exactly what they need
-
You’re carrying a birth that’s still weighing on you, and you need somewhere safe to talk it through
-
You want to feel looked after, whatever your birth looked like and however you’re feeding your baby
And of course, your partner is welcome to be part of it too. I can hold space for partners experiences too.
How it works:

-
Daytime support, 8am to 4pm. This is where most of my availability is.
-
Evenings, 6pm to 10pm. Limited spaces, so get in touch early.
-
£30 per hour. One flat rate, however much time you book.
-
Blocks of 2 hours minimum.
-
Travel: free up to 10 miles from Newquay, then 45p per mile after that. I cover most of Cornwall, realistically within an hour’s travel of Newquay.
Tell me what you need, and we’ll shape your support around that. Not sure what that is yet? That’s fine, we’ll work it out together.
A note on scope:
I’m a Doula, and although a qualified therapist, I'm not a medical professional, so I don’t replace your midwife, health visitor or GP. If I’m concerned about your physical or mental health, I’ll tell you honestly and help you find the right support.
