Welcome to my site. My name is Terri and amongst other things I own and run Cornwall Hypnobirthing & Hypnotherapy. I live in Newquay, Cornwall with my 12 year old daughter. My background is in Education where I worked for 17 years. I have gained a vast array of experience working with adults, young people and babies. My original background was in the Childcare sector but I moved across to the Education sector in 2001.

In 2012 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter using Hypnobirthing. I had such a wonderful, positive and empowering birthing experience, that it inspired me to train as a Hypnobirthing practitioner myself. I originally trained in the Marie Mongan method of Hypnobirthing, however over time as my knowledge and experience grew through I started developing  my own independent Hypnobirthing course, still with the same philosophy, but with personalised content which means I can continue to update and adapt my course to keep it relevant and current.  Which means you won't be being taught out of a generic manual!

I am also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist,.  I gained my Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy with Mindfield - South West School of Clinical Hypnotherapy and I am a registered member of the GHR.

I run Relaxation Workshops teaching mindfulness, breathing techniques, guided imagery, relaxation techniques, visualisation and more.  In 2016 I completed my Doula qualification with Antenatal Wisdom and achieved an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Antenatal Education. I have since completed extra training with Badass Doulas and The Birth Bliss Doula Academy, and am now lucky enough to be The TBU Academy's resident Doula trainer - teaching other aspiring birthy folk to be the best Doula they can be!

In 2019 I trained in the Traumatic Birth Recovery 3 Step Rewind Technique, which is an incredible therapy to help birthers overcome a traumatic birth experience.  in 2020 I completed  an LGBTQ+ Competency workshop with The Queer Birth School.

To support me in my practice I also have a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, Childhood and Youth Studies, and a Diploma in Life Coaching and Mindfulness. Throughout my business and professional practice I work and adhere to the National Occupational Standards and I hold full, comprehensive insurance through Holistic Insurance Services. I am also a passionate committee member of the Kernow Maternity Voices Partnership -  we are a group of volunteers who are working hard to make experiences of the maternity system in Cornwall positive, person centred and inclusive. 

I have been successfully teaching Hypnobirthing for  over 10 years and Doulaing for 8 and I love every minute of it. I am so passionate about what I do and I love that I can be just a small part of peoples pregnancy and birthing journeys.

The feeling of confidence and empowerment that people get from taking control of their birth is priceless. Watching a woman/birthing person learn to trust in their body, letting go of their fears, and build on their belief in their ability to accomplish anything they put their mind to is what makes what I do so rewarding.
